Let Her Answer All Your Skin Care Questions

I get Impetigo EVERY year. Is there anything that can stop this permanently? Have it once, have it for good?

First off, is your impetigo caused by Staph aureus or Group A strep? Did the doc ever tell you?

Also are you in contact with people with impetigo? Do you work in daycare, education, or the healthcare field? Do you have a throat infection every year in addition to the impetigo?

Either you are a carrier in your nasal cavity and keep reinfecting yourself, or you keep coming into contact with someone with the disease or someone that is a carrier. The infection is spread by DIRECT contact with lesions or with nasal carriers.

You should probably get a nose swab to find out your carrier status. Also if you ARE getting throat infections, and not treating them, then this could be happening. That is why Group A is so important to treat properly. It can spread to your skin, your kidneys, and even your blood.
