impetigo is a very contagious skin infection….when my child contracted it I treated it with a betadine wash to keep it from spreading and an ointment…bactroban….cleared up pretty fast…here’s some more information on the topic….

yes…it is spread by contact …so if a finger touched the serum or liquid secreted by an impetigo lesion then it is logical that it would start on a finger.
yes it can start anywhere
