Are severely dry and cracked heels a sign of diabetes?
I have had unequivocally dry heels for about 2 months now. we never suspicion most of it until we saw the thickk cream for dry heels which pronounced it was for unchanging as well as diabetic purposes. Can dry heels be the notice pointer of diabetes?
Trendsetta.. how about we go find the kid molesting grandpa to screw? That seems to be your hobby anyway.

I don’t think so. It could also be because you wear heals too much.
Diabetics can lose the feeling in their feet, due to lack of circulation. They can also develop dry, flaking skin on their feet.
So, you probably just have dry skin.
Unless you have other symptoms of diabetes – like severe thirst, frequent urination, fatigue, dizzy spells, weight loss, wounds that won’t heal. Any further suspicions, you might want to speak to a Dr.
It’s not always a sign of diabetes. I have had severly dry and cracked heels/feet for about ten years now. If something over the counter does not work for you, you can get a cream prescription from your doctor. It works o.k., but still has not cured my feet completely. It is ecsema. In any case, I would talk to your doctor to rule out diabetes.
no. the cream said "for diabetic purposes" because diabetics have feet problems due to bad circulation. u shouldn’t worry, just have your regular dr checkups and you should be fine if u live a healthy life.
no I have dried heels because I drive truck and my feet are always resting on my heels… so the skin builds up.
not that I know of
Eczema, perhaps?
Not necessarily.
Try pinching your skin & letting go. does it stand up or fall back into place? This is a sign for dehydration.
NO
It means your shoes don’t fit
it is
but it is also a just a sign of dry skin
try treating it first
testing your sugar level is very simple if you want to test yourself for diabetes
ugh… dry heels is a sign that you need a PROFESSIONAL pedicure… not a homemade foot in the bucket one… the key word of the day is…..p-e-d-i-c-u-r-e… oh yea, and a little bit of liotion will do some majic on those hoofs of yours also… so the next time u decide to call someone gross, remember that MY feet are not cracked …chow
1.See your GP for a blood sugar test.
2. You can try the following treatment as well
TREATMENT OF CRACKED HEELS
Apply a moisturizing cream twice daily to the affected heels, – heel balm
Use pumice stone to reduce the thickness of the hard skin.
Avoid open backed shoes or thin soled shoes
Buy shoes with a good shock absorbing sole
Never try to pare down the hard skin your self with a razor blade or a pair of scissors!
Not neccessarily. Diabetics, like my mother, do often have cracked heels, and dry skin everywhere (not just on the feet). But diabetics also have other, more classic and noticeable, symptoms–such as constant thirst, frequent trips to the bathroom, fatigue, unexplained and dramatic weight gain or weight loss, as well as dizziness, sweating, and hand tremors between meals due to plunging blood sugar. If you have some of those symptoms, PLUS the dry skin, then yeah, you may want to get checked out by a doctor. But dry skin can also be indicative of other conditions, such as, well, dry skin…lol…or psoriasis, eczema, or other things. I’d go to the doctor anyway, since this seems to be a new condition. What may seem small and unimportant can be a sign of something that does in fact need medical attention. Good luck!
I don’t think so. I have diabetes and don’t have that problem. My wife is not diabetic and she has this condition. You can ask a friend who is diabetic to check your sugar level. We all have a small test kit. The strips are about a $1 a piece, so you could offer them a couple bucks. She uses a cream on her heels regularly. We live in a very humid climate. When we visit a dry climate, she really has trouble.
No, dry cracked heels are not a sign of diabetes. I work at a foot doctor office. A good cream to use is Amlactin ( i may have not spelled it right but it is over the counter, ask the pharmacist). Regular lotions and creams just cover the top of the foot with waxy material. This stuff gets into your skin and really works. Lots of people have what you described and they come in to the office all the time. In fact, I have try scaley feet too and I’m not diabetic.
no…
it means time for a nice, new, bottle of lotion.
OK, if you have diabetes, the first thing you’ll notice is constant thirst and needing to go to the toilet alot, the last thing you’ll be worrying about is dry heels when you’re feeling this bad.
